There are certain garments that go through various incarnations, adopted by different subcultures as the decades roll by, each giving it their own new meaning in how it is worn. The Baracuta G9 jacket is one such garment.

The Baracuta G9 goes down as one of the most recognisable jackets ever, known to have been worn by many of the greats of musical and cinematic history. Not many pieces of clothing can claim to have been worn by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Steve McQueen. The most notable example of the G9 is probably the red version worn by James Dean in Rebel Without A Cause.

Also known as the Harrington jacket it has also been adorned by many musical stars including members of The Clash, Eric Clapton and Paul Weller amongst many others.

Initially producing raincoats for the likes of Burberry and Aquascutum, the Miller brothers eventually went on to form their own brand. The G9 was originally developed in 1937 as a weather-proof jacket to be used on the fairways as the founders joined their local golf club.
