Moscot is a 5th generation family-owned eyewear business born and bred in the Lower East Side of New York City. We’ve had them in the shop for years, and love them for both the high quality of their handmade shades and the story of their humble beginnings.

All of Moscot’s shades are handmade, using the highest quality materials, real hardware, and hinges that are riveted through the temple and frame fronts to ensure the sturdiest construction possible. What’s more, their acetate frames are custom crafted resulting in unique patterns distinctive to each product. 🤩

Moscot’s optical roots were first planted in America by Great Great Grandfather Hyman Moscot, who began selling eyeglasses from a pushcart on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Today, five generations and over 100 years later, it’s one of the oldest local businesses in New York City, as well as the 21st oldest eyewear company in the world still operating today.
