Assistant Manager 

We are looking to hire an energetic and enthusiastic Assistant Manager. The role’s primary responsibility will be to act as a bridge between online and physical shop. Also helping to get our unique story across to the online consumer.

Our ideal candidate will have retail management skills along with an entrepreneurial attitude and a willingness to tackle the unique challenges faced by an independent retail business.


  • Help organise and run both our online and physical retail stores.
  • Assist in planning and implementing strategies to attract customers and drive sales 
  • Coordinate daily customer service operations (e.g. sales processes, orders and payments)
  • Helping marketing the online offering
  • Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives
  • Monitor and maintain store inventory
  • Monitor retail operating costs, budgets and resources
  • Communicate with customers and evaluate their needs 
  • Analyse consumer behaviour and adjust product positioning 
  • Assist in the Buying function, visiting showrooms to view new collections
  • Research emerging products and use information to update the store’s merchandise
  • Create reports, analyse and interpret retail data, like revenues, expenses and competition
  • Involvement in regular audits to ensure the store is functioning to its optimum level


  • Have excellent product knowledge and a genuine interest in what we do
  • Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or similar position
  • Experience with online retail
  • Familiarity with financial and customer service principles 
  • Strong numeracy skills with the ability to create and analyse reports, spreadsheets and sales statistics
  • Proficient user of MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
  • Leadership and organisational abilities
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Flexibility to work in shifts

Our ideal candidate would also have some or all of the skills below:

  • Knowledge of the WordPress editing system (in particular WooCommerce)
  • Some experience of image sizing and manipulation (e.g. Photoshop)
  • Familiar with Instagram, Facebook business and other relevant social media platforms
