‘Only Human’ by Martin Parr
The one word seemingly on everybody’s lips begins with ‘B’ and involves the uncertainty surrounding our departure from the European Union. Should you want a visual holiday from the ceaseless news coverage of what may or may not be happening, we more than recommend Martin Parr’s Only Human exhibition that is on at the National Portrait Gallery until 27th May.
Martin Parr is a bit of a national hero. His photographic works and projects have documented various aspects of British and world culture over the past four decades. Though his photography does have a humorous style, it does also cover some of the more serious issues and can leave the viewer unsure that they should shed tears of laughter or despair.
His distinctive style has gone on to influenced many successful photographers to have followed in Parr’s footsteps. If you would like to enjoy the show it is advised to book in advance as it has been very well received by so far.
